Montana Campaign

In 2009, dontmovefirewood.org and the Montana Department of Natural Resource Conservation, Forestry Division, joined forces to create a campaign to keep out of state visitors from bringing firewood into Montana. With an Emerald Ash Borer Education and Outreach grant provided by USDA APHIS Plant Protection and Quarantine, Montana was able to cover the creation and distribution costs for their campaign, while dontmovefirewood.org staff aided by providing customized versions of our artwork and consulting on the text and messages.

As of February 2009, this campaign includes;

Don't Move Firewood Montana Postcard

Sending 30,000 postcards to non-resident hunting and fishing license registrants [view postcard]. Many of these registrants reside in regions currently infested with emerald ash borer, sirex wood wasp, and Asian long-horned beetles.

Ad space in the Deer, Elk, and Antelope State of Montana Hunting Regulations (2010), which reaches 300,000 hunters [view advertisement]. The print regulations are distributed to all license holders, of which approximately 25% are out-of-state.
